Market Chief Medical Officer (CMO) – Texas

The Market Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is responsible for providing leadership in achieving excellence in advancing quality clinical outcomes, patient safety, compliance standards, utilization review, performance improvement and medical staff affairs for a multi-hospital Market located in Texas.  The CMO will be an active member of the multi-hospital executive leadership teams with a direct reporting relationship to the Market CEO and dotted line to the Region CMO.

This position will collaborate to develop and execute strategic initiatives and programs at the various hospitals within the Market. Successful candidates will have demonstrated leadership success in driving Quality Measures and best practices.  The Market Chief Medical Officer is also responsible for fostering excellent relationships between the medical staff and the hospitals and establishing strong physician collaboration and integration.

Position Requirements

Physician candidates with an active MD or DO license in good standing and Board Certification in area of specialization.  Advanced degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field.  Minimum of 5 years in clinical practice and 5 years of hospital senior administrative experience overseeing quality, compliance, peer review and performance improvement, utilization review and medical staff affairs.  Prior hospital CMO/VPMA experience is necessary.

Demonstrated hospital leadership, organizational and management skills with exceptional verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.  The successful candidate will demonstrate a style that conveys confidence, enthusiasm, and engenders trust in others.
