The Infection Control Coordinator’s responsibilities include:
- monitoring and investigating known or suspected sources of infections in order to determine the source and contain outbreak
- reviewing sterilization and disinfection techniques and recommending changes as needed
- providing related education to staff
- preparing simple cultures as needed for environmental and individual studies
- evaluating sterilization and disinfection methods and recommending changes as necessary
- assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the Infection Control program.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related healthcare field required
- Experience: 3+ years’ healthcare experience with an emphasis on Infection Prevention / Infection Control; knowledge of regulatory and clinical practice guidelines
- License: Current RN License required
- Certifications: Infection Control certification (CIC) is highly desirable
