Infection Control Coordinator – South Central US

Great opportunity for an Infection Control Coordinator to join a mid-size, award winning acute care hospital that is part of a larger, growing healthcare system.  The hospital is set in an affordable community on the water that is home to several divisions of Fortune 500 companies and a local university.  It is known for its local music, art scene, and historic downtown area.  Fishermen will also really enjoy this community based on its location on the water.

The Infection Control Coordinator’s responsibilities include:

  • monitoring and investigating known or suspected sources of infections in order to determine the source and contain outbreak
  • reviewing sterilization and disinfection techniques and recommending changes as needed
  • providing related education to staff
  • preparing simple cultures as needed for environmental and individual studies
  • evaluating sterilization and disinfection methods and recommending changes as necessary
  • assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the Infection Control program.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related healthcare field required
  • Experience: 3+ years’ healthcare experience with an emphasis on Infection Prevention / Infection Control; knowledge of regulatory and clinical practice guidelines
  • License: Current RN License required
  • Certifications: Infection Control certification (CIC) is highly desirable
