ED (Emergency Department) Nursing Director – Northwest US

The ED Director of this mid-size hospital that is part of a larger healthcare system will be responsible for developing and implementing patient-focused, data-driven, and servant-led strategies and initiatives for Emergency Department operations and growth, and will have a positive impact on the hospital, staff, and patients.  The ED Director will report to the CNO, recruited by Health Career Talent several years ago.

Impact:

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures and regulatory requirements to promote a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence in patient care, leading to higher patient satisfaction, improved patient outcomes, and increased patient referrals.
  • Develop and implement strategies and initiatives to enhance the quality of patient care, achieve department financial goals, and improve staff performance and engagement to create a positive work environment, reduce staff turnover, and enhance the hospital’s reputation in the community.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with hospital leadership, physicians, and other stakeholders to improve communication, collaboration, and teamwork, leading to improved patient outcomes and organizational success.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and leadership to staff, to promote a positive work environment, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement to enhance employee satisfaction, reduce burnout, and improve the overall quality of patient care.
  • Supporting the recruitment, retention, and professional development of nursing staff to contribute to a highly skilled and engaged workforce, ultimately enhancing the hospital’s reputation as an employer of choice.

Qualifications

  • RN required
  • BSN required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 3+ years Emergency Department nursing experience in acute care hospitals required
  • 2+ years nursing leadership experience required
  • BCEN (Board of Certification in Emergency Nursing) preferred
